Technical Requirements for Mobile Game Marketing
Before you start our program in July 2026, let's make sure your setup works. Most modern devices handle what we need just fine—but it's worth checking the details so you're not caught off guard later.
What Your Computer Needs
Windows 10 or newer, macOS 11 Big Sur or later, or any recent Linux distribution with GUI support. ChromeOS works for most modules but has limitations with analytics tools.
Dual-core processor at 2.0 GHz minimum, though quad-core is better for multitasking. 8 GB RAM is the baseline—16 GB makes everything smoother when you have multiple browser tabs and tools running.
Stable broadband connection with at least 10 Mbps download speed. You'll be streaming lessons, downloading campaign assets, and uploading projects—a reliable connection matters more than raw speed.
1920×1080 resolution recommended for viewing detailed analytics dashboards and design mockups. Headphones or speakers for video lectures and webinar sessions with guest speakers.
Modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge—updated within the last six months). We'll guide you through installing free analytics platforms, spreadsheet software, and campaign tracking extensions during orientation week.
Desktop & Laptop Setups
Most students use laptops between three and six years old without issues. The marketing platforms we work with are browser-based, so you're not running heavy software locally.
- MacBook Pro or Air from 2018 onward
- Dell XPS, Lenovo ThinkPad, HP Pavilion equivalents
- Desktop PCs with integrated or dedicated graphics
Mobile Devices
You'll need a smartphone to test campaigns and review how ads appear in real game environments. Both iOS and Android work, though having access to both helps during cross-platform modules.
- iPhone 11 or newer with iOS 15+
- Android devices from 2020+ running Android 11 or higher
- Tablet optional but useful for design review sessions
Technical Support Throughout Your Learning
Not everyone comes in with the same tech background. Some students are comfortable troubleshooting on their own, others need a bit more guidance. We've got dedicated support hours during the first two weeks of the program, and our teaching assistants are available in the course forum throughout.

Common Questions
These come up every cohort, so we're putting them here upfront.
Can I use a Chromebook for the entire program?
For about 80% of it, yes. The web-based modules work fine. But when we get into advanced analytics tools in months four and five, you'll need access to Windows or macOS. Some students borrow a laptop from a friend for those specific weeks, others use library computers.
What if my internet connection is unreliable?
All lecture videos are available for download, and most course materials can be accessed offline. Live sessions are recorded and posted within a few hours. You'll need stable internet for submitting projects and participating in group work, but we build flexibility into deadlines.
Do I need to buy any software licenses?
No. Everything we use is either free or available through educational licenses we provide. You won't be asked to purchase Photoshop, premium analytics platforms, or paid tools. The free versions of marketing platforms have everything you need to learn the fundamentals.
My laptop is older than the recommended specs. Will it work?
Possibly. If it's running a supported OS and has at least 4 GB of RAM, you can probably manage with some patience. Things will load slower, and multitasking might be frustrating. Contact us before enrolling—we can run a compatibility check with you.
Ready to Get Started?
Our next cohort begins in July 2026. If your setup meets these requirements—or if you have questions about what you're working with—reach out and we'll walk through it together.
